The fuel of an innovation pipeline is ideas. Most organizations have one or more ways of collecting ideas, which then feed into a “prioritization funnel.” That’s simply another way of saying a big list of ideas is filtered down to a smaller, more manageable list.
Talking is part of being human, and conversation generates energy between humans that starts our cognitive wheels spinning. Creativity is cultivated through conversations, and innovation feeds off of creativity.
Innovation is like golf. You aim for the pin and then play the ball where it lands. Sometimes, you find you aimed for the wrong hole, and then you pivot.
Innovation happens through conversation, and conversation resides within the cracks of an organization. Fill the cracks!
If people are inspired and working toward a purpose, they will collaborate well, whether they're remote or in person. Corollary: Uninspired teams don't work well, period.
Although we cannot predict the future, we can change the future by what we do today if we recognize that life is a journey.
